Taichung National Theater
Designed by world-renowned architect Toyo Ito, this architectural masterpiece features non-standard curved walls with no columns or beams. From the initial design competition to completion, it took nine years to build. Inspired by the concepts of the “Sound Cave” and “Architecture for Listening,” the theater combines music, drama, lifestyle, leisure, culture, and tourism, making it one of Taichung’s most iconic landmarks.
Rainbow Village
Created stroke by stroke by veteran Mr. Huang, this one-of-a-kind village in Taiwan bursts with vibrant colors. From rooftops and walls to the streets and even the mailboxes, his whimsical paintings brim with childlike joy and humor. First discovered through word-of-mouth and social media, Rainbow Village has since become a popular photo spot—perfect for visitors and even wedding shoots.
Gaomei Wetlands
Located on the south side of the Dajia River estuary in Qingshui, this 1,500-hectare wetland boasts abundant ecology and breathtaking scenery. The fiery orange sunsets and towering wind turbines are sights you can’t miss. Once off-limits to outsiders due to ecological concerns, the area found balance after the city built a scenic boardwalk—keeping visitors on the path while preserving the tidal flats for its wildlife.
